Please meet Biorizon’s new sr. business developer: Roger Blokland

In addition to the Biorizon team Roger Blokland started October 1st as a sr. business developer. Roger: "Foremost I am very motivated by helping to realize a sustainable chemical Industry and the ability to make a positive contribution to a fully renewable and sustainable society through the impact of my work. I really enjoy working in this complicated, cutting edge scientific landscape and at the same time manage the overall Biorizon business goals and creating a win-win for all our stakeholders."

Background

Roger on his background: "After graduating in Chemical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology a little more than 20 yrs back I have worked for a variety of interesting businesses. I started my career at engineering company Tebodin where I quickly moved into a business development role. A few years later I switched to (renewable) chemical company Uniqema (now Croda) where I worked in various business management roles overseeing several product lines. Uniqema kindly offered me the chance to get my MBA degree at the RSM Rotterdam School of Management and after graduating I decided to dedicate my career to sustainability and joined biofuels start-up BioMCN. More recently I have worked as business development manager renewables for Honeywell UOP, a Global Process Technology Licensing organization where I was responsible for selling & developing renewable fuels process technology licenses to the biomass, refinery and chemicals industry."

Motivation & Ambition

"I am very pleased that I have now joined the Biorizon team with TNO. I believe that Shared Research Center Biorizon is far advanced in the development of biobased aromatics processes and has very promising technology to offer to the market. Personally I am also very motivated by being able to contribute to a sustainable (chemical) industry and the ability to make a positive contribution to our society through my work."

"I am planning to use my experience and network in the renewable chemical & energy Industry and to realize a small scale commercial production unit by 2025 together with the Biorizon team!"
