Vacancy: Biorizon spin-off Relement is looking for a CTO
During last year’s annual event, Roger Blokland announced the launch of Relement, a spin-off of from TNO activities within the Biorizon Shared Research Center. Relement develops, produces and sells specialty bio-aromatics to make paint better quality, lubricants more stable and insulation material stronger. Now, Relement is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in Delft.

Polymer design and synthesis for sustainable epoxy resins
In the SELectiveLI project, Biorizon co-initiator VITO works on polymer design and synthesis for epoxy resins. VITO uses lignosulfonate-derived phenolic compounds and aldehydes as alternatives to maximally replace their oil-derived precursors. This contributes to a petrol-independent, sustainable bio-based industry in Europe.

Biorizon invites manufacturers to test bio-aromatics with premium properties
Biorizon co-initiator TNO has made considerable progress in scaling-up the production of functionalized biobased aromatics via Diels-Alder technology starting from furans. This has resulted in a unique portfolio of various samples that bring premium properties such as durability, stability, and high temperature performance to products such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, engineering plastics and polyurethane. We invite you to test these samples in your applications and share your experience with us.

TNO’s Energy Transition Unit Joins Biorizon’s HQ at Green Chemistry Campus
TNO’s Energy Transition Unit (former ECN) is joining Shared Research Center Biorizon at the Green Chemistry Campus in Bergen op Zoom, an incubator for the upscaling of sustainable materials and chemicals for the building and packaging industry. At the Campus, TNO will be working on bio-aromatics that can be applied in bitumen, rubber, marine fuels and resins. Now, all 3 horizons (research lines) of Biorizon are being represented at the Campus, that also functions as Biorizon’s headquarters. This further strengthens both Biorizon and the biobased economy in the region.
