Sweden shows interest in Biorizon
This month Ludo Diels, Jan Harm Urbanus, Dennis van der Pas and Wouter van der Laak from Biorizon were invited to go to Sweden to discuss the opportunities for the Swedish industry to participate in Biorizon >> The Way to Aromatics. The meeting proved to be very successful: a next meeting in August is already planned to discuss the opportunities to work together in more detail.
Recently, the Regions4GreenGrowth project (funded under Interreg IVC) has facilitated a video conference between Biorizon >> The Way to aromatics (funded under ERDF fund OP-ZUID) and the Processum facility in Sundsvall. This video conference strengthened the relationship that was already made under the umbrella of the Chemical Regions for Resource Efficiency (R4R) project (FP7, CSA, Regions of Knowledge).
Based on mutual interest a conference call was organized with Biorizon and Swedish industry and knowledge institutions, both linked to the involved region and also outside of this region. This call gave all parties sufficient background to now organize a face to face meeting to further facilitate the development of the Biorizon project. This shows that multiple programs from multiple funds can work together (Interreg, OP-ZUID and FP7) when the right theme and people are connected.
At the start of the workshop there a Skype connection was established with the Interreg IVc meeting in Sundsvall, thanking the team for facilitating the joint workshop and for splitting up part of the team to be present at the joint workshop on Lignin & Sugars in Södertälje.
