Movie of Biorizon’s Waste2Aromatics project

Biorizon's Waste2Aromatics project that aims to turn waste into valuable raw materials for the chemical industry captures the imagination of both industry and media. Biorizon co-initiator and Waste2Aromatics coordinator TNO took the initiative to create a movie of this appealing project.

Biorizon's Waste2Aromatics project

Turning waste, that would otherwise be incinerated or end up in landfill, into valuable raw materials for the chemical industry is the challenge being undertaken by a consortium of 12 companies. Biodegradable waste, nappies, compost and sieving material from wastewater will be converted to aromatic compounds, such as those used in the production of plastics. The innovative Waste2Aromatics project, from the Biorizon Shared Research Center, will bring the commercial production of cost-competitive bio-aromatics, along with the circular economy, significantly closer.

Waste2Aromatics project partners

Waste2Aromatics partners are AEB, Twence, Orgaworld, Waternet, Knowaste, STOWA, Vereniging Afvalbedrijven, Port of Amsterdam, SABIC, Biobased Delta and Zeton. The project is coordinated by TNO and partially financed by TKI Chemie.
